Matthew Henn, Ph.D., has served as our Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer since February 2019.  Since joining at the launch of our company in June 2012, he has held positions of increasing seniority, most recently prior to his current position he served as our Executive Vice President, Head of Discovery and Microbiome R&D.  Prior to Seres, he was the Director of Viral Genomics and Assistant Director of the Genome Sequencing Center for Infectious Diseases at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. He currently serves on the scientific advisory boards of the Forsyth Institute and Growcentia, Inc, an agricultural microbiome company. Dr. Henn earned his B.S. in ecology and evolutionary sciences from the University of New Hampshire and his Ph.D. in ecosystem sciences from the University of California at Berkeley, were he was a NASA Earth Systems Sciences Fellow, and trained as a NSF Postdoctoral Fellow in Microbiology at Duke University. 

Kevin Horgan, M.D., has served as our Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President since October 2018.  Dr. Horgan has contributed to the development and approval of multiple therapeutics across immunological and oncology indications. Most recently, from April 2015 to October 2018, Dr. Horgan was Vice President of Clinical Development at Astra Zeneca, where he led the development of combination immune-oncology programs. Prior to Tucana, Dr. Hogan held Chief Medical Officer roles at Soligenix from January 2011 to October 2013 and Coronado from October 2013 to January 2014. Prior to those roles, he was Vice President of Clinical Immunology at Centocor during the development and approval of Remicade, Stelara and Simponi. Dr. Hogan began his industry career at Merck, following positions in academic medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Horgan earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from University College Cork in Ireland. He did his medical residency on the Osler Service, at The Johns Hopkins Medical School and Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.
